The intriguing name of an unusual cocktail is certainly part of its appeal. Mixologists try a recipe over twenty times to get it right, so we know it takes a lot of effort to create an original drink. When the new concoction’s taste is agreeable, the next question is: what will it be called? The mixologists occasionally get carried away, naming drinks with titles that are nearly un-orderable (no self-respecting chairman wants to be seen yelling to the bar tenders, “I want to have sex on the beach”), you see what I mean.
Another amusing aspect of cocktail naming is the misleading names given to some of them, such as the Long Island Iced Tea, which contains no tea.
