It was Wednesday night and the weather was cool as if the sky was about to send down the rain; everywhere seemed quiet and peaceful.
With a craving for Chinese dish, I decided to take an ‘Uber’ and found myself on the ever busy Adetokunbo Ademola Street in Wuse II – it was the Woks and Koi Chinese Express Restaurant.
With only a small bowl of fruit salad in my belly, I had space ample enough to ingest Singapore noodles, exactly what I had been craving.
I got in, found a cool spot and sat down. There came the waiter dressed in a smart Chinese uniform and he politely handed me the menu. I already knew what I wanted so I quickly ordered my starter before jumping to my cravings. – I requested for the prawn in sauce with Singapore noodles with a glass of Teem and ice.
I then sat there, salivating, while I waited for my dish to arrive in 15 minutes as I had been promised. To distract myself from the slowly ticking clock, I started looking around and taking in the ambience of the environment. “I sure am in the right place I muttered to myself as I felt proud of my choice.
The restaurant offered the feeling and setting of a small pretty Chinese dining room with cute light and armless seats with no back rests. Clearly they don’t want people to over stay.
The place also had some bamboo décor to adore. Talk about management of space I thought to myself. For a minute I assumed I was in china town. There were also candies in small glass bowls on every table. How generous, compared to some overpriced restaurants.
At last food was served within the expected time. Quite surprising. Little wonder ‘Express’ is amongst the restaurant’s name. My fingers were crossed as I hoped to see the actual Singapore noodles and not something else like the regular spaghetti we all know. It was thus pleasing when I beheld this beautiful, mouth-watering meal before me; colorful and well garnished.
It was a delicious experience; I mean in less than 15minutes such a yummy and palatable meal was well executed without any fault. I was truly at the right place. Same with the prawn sauce; it was just perfect and the quantity of the food was quite sizeable too.
